Finding a replacement for Will Bosisto was never going to be an easy task. The impact Will had on the club, both on and off the field, was immeasurable.
When the Cricket Committee sat down towards the end of 2023 to discuss potential options, the general consensus was an experienced pro should be top of the agenda. It was felt a young dynamic 1XI squad would benefit from a professional who knew the league and the area.
As soon as we discovered Ed Moore’s availability, he quickly became the number one choice. Ed is no stranger to the Lancashire League having been professional at Rochdale 2018-2019 averaging a very healthy 64 with the bat. In his four and a half years in UK club cricket he has scored over 4,500 runs averaging between 45 & 87 each season, alongside over 80 wickets with his off spin.
Eddie, who plays for Western Province in his native South Africa is predominantly an opening batsman. His consistent run scoring domestically was rewarded with a Test debut for the Proteas in their recent tour to New Zealand.
Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Ed to Centre Vale and we can’t wait to see him in action.
